Installing Most Mods

  1. Download the mods that you want to install.
  2. Stop your server from cpanel.
  3. Log into your server FTP or Navigate via the cpanel File Manager.
  4. Upload your mods (one at a time, repeating these instructions as necessary) into the mods folder. The mod’s installation instructions should specify the folder(s) to place them into if they are different.
  5. When you’re ready, restart your server.
  6. If your server fails to start, or crashes after adding a mod, you will need to talk to the mod author or open a support ticket.
Sometimes we can help resolve simple issues, but many times with mods, the issue is a bug in the code that has to be fixed.

Notes for all Mods/Plugins:

  • Make sure to download the right version for the mod/plugin. For compatibility, they need to be the same Minecraft version as your server. For example, if your server is 1.7.10, the mod must also be 1.7.10.
Sometimes 1.7.2 mode work with 1.7.10, and 1.6.2 mods might work with 1.6.4, but don’t rely on this being the case. 1.2.x/1.3.x/1.4.x/1.5.x/1.6.x/1.7.x mods will not work with each other or your server.
  • The file you downloaded may be an archive (.zip, .rar, .7z) and will need to be extracted using an archive manager such as 7zip.
  • Make sure to check your log and console for errors created from your newly installed plugin, this may indicate it requires additional setting up (MySQL, permissions).
These logs will be essential for getting problems solved in the support discord or a trouble ticket.
