Noobs[edit]

  • There are two basic types of addons/mods for Unturned servers
    Steam Workshop mods, which you can install yourself
    RocketMod plugins, which
    if the are in our Mod Manager list you can install yourself.
    if they are not in our Mod Manager list and you try to install them you will typically get an error as they contain file types that cannot be uploaded by users for security reasons.
  • There some debate about Unturned saving data, see the info below.
  • You CANNOT uninstall/remove RocketMod from your server once you have installed it. You have to Reinstall your server form the Actions tab in the game control panel.
    THIS WILL WIPE OUT EVERYTHING!!!!

Saving Data[edit]

NOTE:
   There is some debate about Unturned saving progress
       There are reports that the in-game /Save and @Save does not work even if you have made yourself Owner or Admin
       From some testing, using the /Save there are log messages that things are saved.
          World] (TRU).......[(TRU)......]: "/Save"
          Successfully saved the game.
          [World] (TRU).......[(TRU)......]: "/save"
          Successfully saved the game.
       Now if this actually saved anything.. still to be confirmed
   The recomendation is to install the RocketMod and make sure that the "autosave" option is set.

RocketMod[edit]

  • We have both RocketMod v4 and RocketMod v5 in the Mod Manager
    We Recommend RocketMod v4 as the information related to plugin compatibility with RocketMod 5 is limited.
    RocketMod 5 is new and may still need some work. (Source: https://rocketmod.net/)
  • NOTE: Plugins from RocketHarbor can ONLY be installed via the Mod Manager as they contain restricted files
    and CAN NOT be uploaded by users. Please submit a support ticket with the relevant link and we will add them to the Mod Manager for you.

Installing RocketMod[edit]

To Install RocketMod, you need to do the following steps:

  1. Stop your server
  2. From the Mod Manager icon click on the Install link next to the version of RocketMod you wish to install (See the notes above)
  3. Start your server.

Once started, and you have installed RocketMod correctly, it will create the necessary folders on your server.

  • NOTE: If you Install RocketMod without stopping your server, you will need to restart your server for RocketMod to complete its install and create the necessary folders and files on your server

If correctly installed you will see the following files and folder on your server:
Rocketmodfiles.png

RocketMod 4[edit]

Rocket Mods/Plugins[edit]

  • Mods/Plugins from RocketHarbor require preprocesing by TRUgaming staff.
  • They also cannot be directly uploaded to your server, as most of them contain .dll files which are restricted for security reasons.
  • If there is a mod/plugin you want and it is not in the Mod Manager, please submit a Support ticket via the Game COntrol Panel and we will work on getting it added to the Mod Manager for you.

Adding Mods from the Mod Manager[edit]

  • NOTE: The mods in the Mod Manager are mods that contain restricted file types and can only be installed via the Mod Manager and not via FTP like the Workshop mods
  1. Click on the Mod Manager icon
  2. Click on the Install link associated with the mod you wish to install

Updating Mods from the Mod Manager[edit]

  1. Click on the Updates icon
  2. Click on the Install link associated with the mod you wish to Update
    The updates all have the version numbers of the mod included in their title, so if you see multiple entries, look for the latest one and install that one ONLY
  • Notes:
    You cannot uninstall mods without completely wiping your server.
    Some older mods still exist in the list. This is because we have users who have installed them and for various reasons, are no longer active on their server but still have active server accounts.
    So we cannot delete the mods until such time as these 'older mods are no longer installed

Steam Workshop Mods[edit]

Adding Workshop Mods[edit]

  1. Subscribe to the Steam Workshop mods you want to add to your server. Make sure you take note of their ModID's
    Untmodid.png
    URL: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1757086622
    Mod ID: 1757086622
  2. Stop your server
  3. Click on the Configuration Files icon
    Configfiles.png
  4. Click on the Text Editor link for Steam Workshop Mods
    Untconffiles.png
    If this is the first time opening this file, the File_IDs section, will be empty except for two square brackets.
    {
    "File_IDs": [],
    "Query_Cache_Max_Age_Seconds": 600,
    "Max_Query_Retries": 2
    }
  5. Using the list of Steam Workshop IDs that you made while subscribing to them, add them one by one to the WorkshopDownloadIDs.json file. Put each ID number on it's own line. Add a comma after each ID number, except for the last ID number needs no comma at the end.
    {
    "File_IDs": [
    1757086622,
    1689239647
    ],
    "Query_Cache_Max_Age_Seconds": 600,
    "Max_Query_Retries": 2
    }
  6. When you're finished making edits, click the "Save" button in the upper left corner.
  • NOTE: Do not remove the square brackets, the file list must start with an open square bracket, and end with a closed square bracket.
  • The following is also acceptable, but in subsequent edits the file will revert to the above format.
    {
    "File_IDs": [1757086622,1689239647],
    "Query_Cache_Max_Age_Seconds": 600,
    "Max_Query_Retries": 2
    }
  • When you start your server next time, the Steam Workshop mods are begin downloading, and install automatically.
  • If you look, you will see the mods have been added to your server.
    Unturnedmods.png
  • Using this method, the game automatically sorts the mods into the correct folders (maps into "Maps", other items into "Content" in the correct directory).
  • When you connect to your server they will be listed under the Workshop section.
    Unturnedscrn.png

Old Method for Adding Workshop Mods[edit]

  1. Once you have Subscribed to the mod(s) you want and they have been downloaded to your local PC
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\304930 (Note: this depends on how you have your local Steam app setup)
  2. Connect to your server using your favorite FTP application, navigate down to your server directory
    Our default location is: \servers\default
    UntitledFiles.png
    You should see a Workshop folder.
    Under the Workshop you will see two additional folders: “Content” and “Maps”
    Your folder structure should look something like this:
    UnturnedWorkshop.png
  3. On your local PC, locate the 304930 (Unturned) folder: Steam >steamapps >Workshop >Content >304930
    Within that folder, there should be folders that have numbers as their names.
    Copy these folders into either the Maps or Content folder on your Unturned server depending on the type of Mod
  4. Make any configuration changes that the mod requires
  5. Restart your server

Other Info[edit]

Loadout Settings[edit]

Server loadouts can allow for different skillsets (found under the character specialty in the main menu). This allows for different skillsets to spawn with different gear.

Value Description
0 Civilian*
1 Firefighter
2 Police Officer
3 Spec Ops
4 Farmer
5 Fisher
6 Lumberjack
7 Worker
8 Chef
9 Thief
10 Doctor
255 All skillsets

  • Civilian is when you have no skillset selected

  • The command for loadouts is:
    /Loadout [skillsetID]/[ItemID]/[ItemID]
    Add additional /[ItemID] to add more items to loadout. (Leave out brackets when adding in IDs)

For Example: /Loadout 3/4/6/1172
Would give anyone with the Spec Ops skillset, when they spawn, an eaglefire, 1 military mag, and Spec Ops bottom.
Using, /Loadout 255/81/81/1176 would give ALL players who spawn in 2 MRE and a GPS

  • (You can also add loadout to commands.dat file)

You cannot have both loadouts 0-10 and loadout 255, as whichever one you have coming first in server commands overides the other loadouts.
